I feel like the Ward Family has allowed me an amazing opportunity to “live their life” WITH them. They have become dear friends and their kids are a joy to my heart. Thank you D and K for always letting me intrude into your moments with my camera… what a privilege it has been to build these memories with you all these years!

Childhood…and Sam Black
Sorry Sam! The twins were featured yesterday… but today is YOUR day!!! Looking at this image reminded me of the mud shot we took a few years ago in Minden. Sam, you are ONE lucky kid! Looking back at all the times your mom has allowed me the privilege of being your photographer…… I am so thankful for those opportunities. However, what I am MOST thankful for is that your mom doesn’t make me stay inside the “perfect little portrait” box that most of us think we should be in. Your mom lets us PLAY in mud, ride SKATEBOARDS, kiss FROGS, and sit around in the grass to eat popsicles…. your mom lets you guys be KIDS and lets me capture it forever. So Sam, you should probably tell your mom thanks… because one day, when your mom and Mrs. Kristin are old and wrinkled…. and you are a grown up… well I am betting that on that day, you will look back at these crazy sessions and smile…. because YOU are lucky enough to have the joys of childhood captured. The laughs, the tears, the riding a bike down a hill JOY, the love of your brothers, the EVERYTHING that makes a little boy a little boy…
Happy Childhood Sam!!

The Downtown Family…The Roys
Recently,I have been trying to sum up “my style” with a few words..and I think these images help do that. To ME, my photography is unique. I am a conservative, contemporary, non tradional traditionalist, who loves classic poses with candid expressions! haha, I know, I know, several of those adjectives become idioms side by side..but they are all true! My aim is to capture the essense of family and childhood with new angles and perspectives, but I desire to preserve the innocence of children by staying true to my conservative values and biblical beliefs.
It is humbling that so many of you that find my work inspiring and heartwarming. I am quite honored to be trusted by so many of your families for this precious privilege…..
The Roy Family is one of my favorite sessions to do each year. Monica is so trusting with some of my crazy ideas and her girls are AMAZING to spend time with. Thankfully for us all….. Scott behaved too! We went downtown and used some of my “Crazy Senior” spots in different ways to showcase this sweet foursome…..

The Davis Family
It is FUN to try new things. Thank you to the Davis Family for being my test subjects here…. you guys are GREAT!
