Morgan…..

Miss Morgan…
i can see so much life in her in all the other moments we captured..
i found joy,
i found innocence,
i found simplistic childhood peace,
i found a girl who loves
each day,
each minute,
each breath she breaths….

but this image
i see when i close my eyes…
and it will probably stick with me for a long time.
THIS image is what i hope people see when i hold my baby girl.
THIS image is what i long for my baby girl to look like when i hold her….

in this moment
i see love
i see a mom whose pride and joy rests peacefully in her grasp.
i see a child secure and loved and without restraint or pain
i see a BOND of natural ease and love and trust and true nurturing.

i can see in morgans eyes and hands…
how she loves her moms arms to hold her
and how wonderful she feels right there…
i can see Stacey…
her joy and pride and amazement at how fast time has flown and how fabulous her baby is….
i see mother and daughter and mother and daughter
i see life
and the circle of life…
not only between morgan and her mom.. but between Stacey and hers…
full circle
lifes journey takes us places we cant imagine
in a time capsule that goes too slow and then too fast…
but full circle it comes and goes…

After the storms….

Reed and Riley Black

The twins! Riley is on the left and Reed on the right. I need to open the archives and find their newborn session….. I have really enjoyed watching these guys grow. They are 2 days older than my Mason so it really hits home when I see them looking like little boys and not babies…

These are from Mothers Day Out at Broadmoor Baptist Church in Shreveport. Beautiful children, beautiful day…. A BIG Thank you to Amy, Sheridan, and Debbie for a smooth week and lots of great smiles….
I am booking only a few school programs for summer and fall. If you are a Mothers Day Out or Preschool Director and would like me to come to your program, please contact me.

Paintings…. by me

Sometimes a photograph is too real. I know, that is the purpose… pure documentation… and most days I love photography for that reason. It is real! but sometimes…

it is too real.

Sometimes we want our memories to be what we remember feeling. We want it to be a fairy tale, storybook, our own Alice in Wonderland setting.

and it can be.

Besides writing in my blog, painting has become one of my favorite artistic outlets. In “painting land” I can take a photograph and create a fantasy. A dreamlike place of magic and smells and sounds and music.

The beach is the perfect example…
The beach is an incredible place to take kids.
We LOVE the surf, we love the sandcastles, we love the smell of the salt in the gentle breeze, and we love the sky blue sky. But sometimes my beach pictures remind me of how hot we were, how sticky the kids were, how wonderful the sand felt in every crack, and what a sun burnt three year old sounds like…… I am thrilled to paint all THOSE things away… and to have found again.. what I love about the beach… the memory I want to take with me from that wonderland..
in case you didn’t know… I will paint your beach photographs for you too…. you can send me your beach snapshots from your vacations , or any snapshot of your historical filecabinet we call life… and we can create a heirloom for you too…

Aubrey

What’s on the inside is what counts right? Isn’t that what people always say?
Well sweet Aubrey not only is jaw dropping gorgeous on the outside… but spend some time with her and you will see…..

you will become mezmerized by what you find on the inside. You will be SO caught off guard by the maturity and love and kindness and fabulousness of this young teen.. that all that beauty on the outside will become just “the accessory” to the girl who shines like a shooting star from her heart.
